Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Wind Project Manager to join our renewables team. Work as part of a collaborative, productive, diverse, and fun team to successfully manage complex or multi-service wind projects. Projects will range in size and cover the entire project lifecycle (development, construction, operation support). Responsibilities will focus on managing the overall project scope, schedule, cost, and risk management on multiple projects. Strong interpersonal skills will be required to build relationships and foster a trusting and open atmosphere with internal and external stakeholders. This position is located in Minneapolis, Denver, and Madison. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management Responsibilities – Full accountability on multiple projects including:
    • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
    • Project team management and coordination
    • Oversight of project work
    • Oversight of project deliverables (ensure QA/QC checks are complete; ensure deliverables match the contract)
    • Track project health and take corrective action, if needed (quality, scope, schedule, cost)
    • Manage uncertainty and change (ex; scope creep, change orders, risk management)
    • Timely reporting of project health and status to internal and external stakeholders
    • Timely invoicing and accounts receivable (AR) management
  • Team Management Responsibilities:
    • Supervise all staff necessary to complete assigned projects
    • Coordinate project performance with design team leads and other internal stakeholders
    • Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
    • Coordinate with Market and Service leadership to assign project team
    • Coordinate with Market and Service leadership to identify team growth opportunities
    • Mentor project team members (based on PMIs PMBOK®)
    • Support continual improvement of Westwood Processes and Standards for Project Management
    • Support continual improvement of Westwood Standards for Project Execution (Checklists, Flowcharts, etc.)
  • Business Development Responsibilities:
    • Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and support contract negotiations
    • Identify and coordinate potential opportunities for additional Westwood services and products on active projects to best support Client’s needs
    • Prepare change orders and purchase orders as scope changes occur
    • Coordinate with Market leadership to align with strategic and marketing activities

Required Experience

  • Project Management:
    • At least 4 years’ experience as a Project Manager for similar projects
    • History of application of Project Management processes (PMBOK preferred)
    • Basic understanding and application of contract commercial terms.
    • Proficient understanding of Project Controls.
    • Knowledge and application of Financial Management.
    • Thorough understanding of development, construction, design, operations, contract management with emphasis on power industry projects preferred.
    • Knowledge of Wind Projects preferred
    • Proficient understanding of CPM scheduling or associated software (Primavera, MS Project) and proficient understanding of Deltek Vision or associated software is a plus.
  • • Team Leadership:
    • Able to lead small teams across multiple groups
    • Able to work with minimal supervision and direction
    • History of working collaboratively at multiple levels of an organization
    • Able to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
    • Able to grow relationships and foster a collaborative team environment
    • Able to tailor project management processes and optimize risk responses based on individual project conditions
    • Embrace adaptability, resiliency, and innovation
    • Possess advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Credentials:
    • BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to attain within 1 year of employment is a plus
