Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer to join our team in our Minnetonka, MN office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for structural design of foundations, ancillary structures and anchorage for utility scale solar projects, substations, and transmission line infrastructure.
  • Prepare or direct the structural design reports, specifications, and plans. Review and approve project submittals, RFIs, and supports field activities during construction.
  • Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects. Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Education or experience must include:
    • IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318
    • shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles, and concrete caissons
    • connection and anchorage design such as cast-in-place, post installed, welds and high-strength bolts
    • steel member design, including cold-formed and hot-rolled steel sections
    • reinforced and prestressed concrete design
    • active construction projects, including inspections, submittals, and RFIs
    • structural design for utility-scale PV solar projects
    • remote collaboration and working with other disciplines
    • design and construction of bridges
    • structural inspections of existing structures
    • seismic design
    • distributed renewable energy system design
    • MS Office
    • AutoCAD
    • Revit/BIM
    • Bluebeam
    • Finite Element Analysis
    • Life Cycle Analysis
    • Industrialized construction
  • EIT/FE certification.
  • Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
