Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a collaborative, detail orientated Substation Designer (CAD Technician) to join a growing energy consulting firm. The Substation Designer would work with our growing Substation Engineering Team to prepare schematic and associated wiring diagrams for high voltage utility substations projects and renewable energy interconnections. The position would require the employee to work with engineers and consultants to create these drawings. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Utilize advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) techniques to meticulously draft a wide range of engineering products, ensuring precision and excellence in every deliverable.
Foster seamless collaboration with a dynamic team of engineers and fellow drafters to rectify any discrepancies in drawings and designs, ensuring a harmonious and error-free final product.
Create highly functional electrical drawings, including Operations Diagrams, Single Line Drawings, Three Line Drawings, Current and Potential Schematics, Protection and Control Schematics, Communication Schematics, Alarm Schematics, and Associated Wiring Diagrams with meticulous attention to detail.
Import tables and calculations such as Bills of Materials (BOMs) while incorporating comprehensive notes into each drawing, enhancing the overall clarity and understanding of the project.
Conduct thorough self-checks on all work to guarantee accuracy before submission to the supervisor or assigned designee, ensuring a flawless output.
Demonstrate a commitment to meeting project schedules and maintaining top-notch quality standards throughout the design process.
Efficiently complete drawings with a keen focus on detail, showcasing a dedication to delivering high-quality results consistently.
Exhibit versatility by seamlessly handling multiple projects concurrently, adapting with flexibility to changes in work assignments that may arise during project development.
Play an active role in the overall project delivery, engaging in effective communication through phone, email, Microsoft Teams, meetings, and the creation of necessary project documents.
Provide valuable interdepartmental support as needed, contributing to the holistic success of the projects at hand.
