Engineering Technician - MicroStation/ORD

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our transportation service team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. As an Engineering Technician, you would be responsible for using standard drafting practices and procedures to assist with various tasks. You will modify and create design plans and drawings using MicroStation under the direction of a designer or engineer.

Work as a member of a project team under the direction of a Project Engineer or Designer in support of various projects. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Create, edit, and modify drawing files using MicroStation
• Apply Westwood CAD standards, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings
• Operate reproduction equipment including large-format scanners and printers
• Work collaboratively in a team environment
• Coordinate filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents
• Plot and backcheck drawings
• Conduct field reviews to gather data
• Take personal responsibility for quality of tasks performed
• Perform routine analysis to check accuracy of data and work products
• Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service
• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism

• Outgoing, friendly, approachable
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Demonstrate willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized field
• Proficient in MicroStation, Autodesk Civil3D, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office applications
• Able to follow general directions and work with limited independence on basic computations

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Technical degree or certification in MicroStation, Autodesk Civil3D
• Demonstrate experience, knowledge and proficiency in the latest version of MicroStation or Autodesk Civil3D
• 0-2 [or] 3+ years of relevant experience
• Possess basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities
