Substation Intern (Spring/Summer 2025)

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineering Intern to join our team. This position will be a part of our Power Division. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares preliminary analysis on a variety of technical tasks
  • Project research, fieldwork, observation, and preliminary design calculations
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of tasks performed
  • Uses AutoCAD/MicroStation to prepare and check working drawings, details, layouts, and estimates
  • Performs routine analysis to check the accuracy of data and work products

Salary Range: $15.00-$25.00+ per hour depending on applicable experience

Required Skills

  • Electrical Engineering major (Junior, Senior, or Master's student)

Required Experience

  • Demonstrates willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized field
  • Growing knowledge of profession as demonstrated by involvement in related professional organizations and professional development programs
  • Basic knowledge of the firm’s policies, practices and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of software required for position
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to follow general directions and work with limited independence on basic computations

Preferred Experience

  • AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting experience a plus.
