Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a talented and innovative Project Manager/Civil Engineer to join our team in Modesto, CA office. In this role you will help grow our Public Infrastructure site design & roadway practice in our Modesto, California office. Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Growth

  • Works with other leaders to grow our municipal site design & roadway practice, focusing on parks, public facilities, utility infrastructure, and local roadway projects.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with municipal clients, local agencies, and internal teams like Landscape Architecture, Land Surveying and disciplines.
  • Secure new opportunities and actively engage in business development, marketing and Statement of Qualification/proposal development.
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of professionals to achieve their career goals and grow into future leaders.

Technical Expertise

  • Lead and oversee the design of complex municipal site and infrastructure projects, including grading, detention, storm-water drainage, utility systems, and roadway design.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local or state regulations, as required.
  • Resolve technical design challenges efficiently to maintain project momentum.
  • Train technicians and EITs on the use of AutoCAD and other design software.

Project Management

  • Deliver projects profitably while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with local agencies to address requirements, secure approvals, and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Conduct project accounting, invoicing, and performance tracking.
  • Manage resources effectively, delegating tasks to qualified staff and nurturing their professional development.
  • Coordinate with other teams at Westwood and through sub-consulting relationships.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of municipal site design, including grading, drainage, detention, utilities, and paving.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of roadway design, including small-diameter water & wastewater design, roadway alignment layouts, drainage design, and roadway grading, including horizontal and vertical curves.
  • Expertise in managing projects from concept through construction.
  • Experience in writing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets.
  • Ability to support client and project pursuit efforts led by others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and inspire staff, lead teams, and communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Outgoing, approachable, and professional demeanor.
  • adept at managing and deploying resources effectively to meet project goals.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in the public infrastructure site and roadway design.
  • Preferred 5+ years managing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver profitable projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.

Compensation Range Minimum

USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Compensation Range Maximum

USD $150,000.00/Yr.
